Douglas Houghton

Douglas Houghton, President, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in NJ. Doug is currently an actively licensed real estate agent in the state of Florida.  His real estate experience runs the gamut from sales of multi-million dollar Gulf-front homes, to vacant lots under $5,000. Doug’s extensive knowledge of the local real estate market allows Home Inspections Unlimited to provide its clients with an extraordinary level of service and support.

Prior to his career in real estate, Doug headed the IT (information technology) operations of a major market research firm.  During his 10 years in the IT field he developed technical skills in the areas of HTML coding and web programming. He is able to implement the latest technological advances in home inspection solutions by providing inspection results online (on the web) and in an easy-to-use email format.

Jeffery Shortt

Jeffrey Shortt, Inspector, is a graduate of the Henry Abbott Technical School located in Danbury, CT. While attending technical school Jeffery majored in plumbing and general contracting. Jeffery began his career working for 8 years at a large plumbing and heating firm in Connecticut. During this period he took advanced courses in both general contracting and plumbing. His educational experience and trade skills allowed him to become a successful state licensed master plumber as well as a licensed building contractor.

For 18 years Jeffrey owned and operated his own plumbing and heating corporation.  As president, he developed both managerial and interpersonal skills while overseeing multiple employees. He currently heads his own construction company and is actively licensed as a general contractor and a plumbing contractor in the state of Florida. Jeffrey's professional background and eye for detail allow him to provide one of the most thorough and comprehensive home inspections available.

Petra Spornova

Petra Spornova, Sales Manager, who was born and raised in the Czech Republic heads the sales team at Home Inspections Unlimited. She moved to America after spending 3 years attending a trade school in Ostrava where she majored in sales and marketing.  During her schooling she spent 2 years gaining hands-on experience working in the sales department of a major kitchen manufacturer.

She landed her first sales position in America at a large marketing firm in Southern California. Her positive attitude and creative thinking quickly moved her to the top of her company's sales force. She frequently lead all sales personnel, which consisted of more than 500 salespeople, and won numerous awards during her 4 years with the company.

In addition to its principal staff members, Home Inspections Unlimited also maintains consulting agreements with licensed professionals in various fields who can be made available whenever their technical expertise is required.
